Textiles with pattern can be found everywhere – drapes, curtains, clothing etc – and in designs both modern, vintage and older. You probably have something quite close by even as you read this. These patterns are the subject of our marks this week. Remember – no competition – no mistakes – just marks on paper that mean something to YOU.
First find your textile. If it is something you are just passing right now you need to capture it with a photograph – otherwise keep it handy for the rest of the week.
Divide your page into 4 by drawing a line from top to bottom and side to side. No need for rulers – if the line is wonky that is just perfect.
Fill each space with a different part of your chosen pattern – just sections. Don’t try to draw the whole piece – just study one area, then move on to another. If you don’t fit in a whole motif that’s fine – no-one will know except you.
Come back tomorrow for the next step in this mark making adventure.
Reblogged this on And Here is My 365.
I have just seen this one. I’m still not over this virus but will be catching up from here when I can. 🙂
Hope you soon feel better, Hazel. This is a good exercise – it can take you to unexpected places.
Take care.
Thank you Myfanwy. I’m feeling slightly more human today 🙂
