I’m doing the ATC event but here’s my poem too

    Sunshine, sea and sand
    Empty beaches around the land
Pebbles as far as the eye can sea
    Trees turning colours of autumn
Escape from the heat of the summer
Mixed feelings about the shorter days ahead
    Berries in the hedgerow
Experience the joy of the autumn sunset
    Remembering the long summer days…..

I have written a piece of prose rather than a poem. You may read it here: http://dfnebossymamma.wordpress.com/2014/09/08/september/
